Novel Technologies for Production Planning in Flexible Supply Chains
The project “Novel Technologies for Production Planning in Flexible Supply Chain Systems” is a research project funded by the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus (and co-funded by the Structural Funds of the European Union) had duration of 24 months and started on the 1st of December 2009. The project concluded after 29 months. The main goal of the project is the development of a software package that will optimize production planning. The tools that were created, allowed the construction of production plans that will take into account realistic production capabilities, alternative supply chain possibilities for product families and the ability to utilize a distributed production systems. The prototype tool was customized for a decorative paints manufacturing plant operated by the host organization.
