Stakeholders in Cyprus provide feedback on BASE programme

On November 2019, "Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center invited representatives from the Social Welfare Services, Mental Health Services, two departments of the Police Force (Office of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Office and Missing Persons), Association of Psychologists, Center of Clinical Psychology and relevant NGOs to discuss the BASE programme.

The participants considered that the role of the ‘cultural advisor’ would assist them in communicating with girls victims of GBV and SGBV suggesting that the role could be included in the relevant national legal framework since it will assist in the integration of refugees and migrants.   In regards of the BASE capacity building for professionals, participants referred to the importance of lifelong learning considering that the BASE project is very promising and outlining the need to engage ‘first-line’ officers such as Police Officers and officers of the Social Welfare Services, as well as psychologists and social workers.
