MODULE 3 - "Communication and collaboration"
About the Module
This module is linked to Competence Area 2 of the Digital Health@School Framework and focuses on developing teachers' effective communication skills in using digital tools to convey clear information and messages about health issues to students. It aims to guide teachers on how to structure classroom interventions to help students recognise inappropriate behaviour in online environments (netiquette).
Finally, it aims to support teachers in learning useful content to promote health awareness and organise collaborative campaigns and activities among students using innovative digital devices, tools and strategies.
Learning Objectives
- Encourage teachers to acquire communication skills (through the use of digital tools) useful in conveying clear information and messages about health issues to students.
- Learning how to structure teaching interventions that help students to recognise inappropriate behaviour in the online setting (netiquette).
- Support teachers in learning useful content to promote health awareness and collaborative campaigns and activities among students using informative and innovative digital devices, tools and strategies.
What you will learn
1. To be able to improve students critical thinking on online health information by developing content, knowledge and health literacy resources for young people (videos, TikTok, slides, etc.).
2. Helping students engage in citizenship through digital health technologies. (Guide students in recognising appropriate/inappropriate behaviour in the online environment. Encourage students to report abuse and misconduct (racism, sexism, sexual violence, etc.). Help students protect themselves from harmful information (e.g. toxic advertising), websites, networks, cyberbullying.
3. To be able to support students in the use of digital technologies for communication, content creation and in the implementation of campaigns and awareness-raising activities on health issues.
4. Help students understand the guidelines of health netiquette, including respectful communication and responsible sharing of health information. (Apply health netiquette principles in online interactions, ensuring respectful and empathetic communication in health-related online forums and social media platforms).
5. Helping students manage digital identities when using health-related digital technologies.
6. Familiarise yourself with the toolkit and piloting activities.
