About the Module
This module is linked to Competence Area 4 of the Digital Health@School Framework and aims to equip teachers with the necessary knowledge to teach students behavioural norms when creating digital content by providing basic information on privacy policies.
It supports them in organising lessons on the risks of sharing private information, how to protect data in relation to health information and services, and how to navigate safely in the online environment. It also aims to support teachers in designing awareness-raising activities on the responsible use of digital technologies for the dissemination of health information and services.
Learning Objectives
- Provide teachers with the knowledge to teach students behavioural norms for digital content creation, privacy policies and disclosure of personal health information.
- Support teachers in structuring interventions on the risks of sharing private information, how to protect data in relation to health information and health services, and how to navigate safely in the online setting.
- Support teachers in designing awareness-raising interventions on the responsible use of digital technologies for the dissemination of health information and services.
What you will learn
1. Implement effective interventions to help students navigate websites, platforms and online applications that provide health information, teaching them to recognise trustworthy health-related websites and online resources.
2. Be able to structure training interventions in order to raise students' awareness of privacy and data protection in consideration of health information and health services. (Identify simple ways to protect one's own devices and content generated online. Provide information on security measures and policies to protect one's own data and on managing a digital identity. Protect personal data online, including setting strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and recognising phishing attempts).
3. Help students to become aware of how to protect their health and well-being when using digital technologies for health information and services.
4. To help students understand how to use digital technologies for health information and health services in a responsible way.
5. Familiarise yourself with the toolkit and piloting activities.
