About the project
The FW4H project, funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation, addresses food waste in the hospitality sector, particularly in hotels. This issue is critical in countries heavily reliant on tourism like Cyprus and Greece, where hotels suffer economic losses and environmental impact due to food waste. FW4H aims to empower hotel chefs, managers, and owners through data utilization. The project's technical goal is to develop a hardware system integrating a digital scale with a camera, machine learning technology for food detection, and a web platform for automated food waste measurement, reporting, and analysis.
