Building Centres of
Vocational Excellence
Across Europe

INVESTech project aims to: Create Centres of Vocational Excellence: Establish Centres of Vocational Excellence in Košice (Slovakia), Attica (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria), Nicosia (Cyprus), and Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Develop a Sustainable Platform for International Collaboration: Create a transnational platform to foster cooperation and exchange of good practices among the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) and relevant stakeholders.:

Five Regions. One Vision.

INVESTech will promote the creation of CoVEs in five European regions (Košice in Slovakia, Attica in Greece, Sofia in Bulgaria, Nicosia in Cyprus, and Klaipeda in Lithuania) by incorporating the Quintuple Innovation Helix (Q2IH) Framework, which promotes partnerships among the academic community, industry, public sector, civil society, and natural environment. By promoting collaboration among diverse types of stakeholders, the project aims to support the alignment of CoVEs with regional smart specialisation strategies with emphasis on sustainable development and innovation.

The project aims to:

INVESTech seeks to promote the innovation potential of VET in the participating countries by fostering collaboration between education, the labour market and other stakeholders; facilitating the development of skills and use of innovative technology; promoting green transition and social inclusion; providing opportunities for international collaboration and exchange of good practices, thus ensuring that VET can play a major role in supporting innovation, skills development, green transition and social inclusion.

Create Centres of Vocational Excellence Establish Centres of Vocational Excellence in Košice (Slovakia), Attica (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria), Nicosia (Cyprus), and Klaipeda (Lithuania).

Develop a Sustainable Platform for International Collaboration Create a transnational platform to foster cooperation and exchange of good practices among the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) and relevant stakeholders.

Promote Innovation in VET Facilitate collaboration between education, labour market, and other stakeholders. Incorporate innovative technologies and practices in vocational education and training.

Support Green Transition and Social Inclusion Develop skills that contribute to the green transition. Promote social inclusion through vocational training.

Enhance Skills Development Offer targeted training programmes and online courses for VET students and professionals. Provide opportunities for upskilling and reskilling across different EQF levels (4-7).

Implement the Quintuple Innovation Helix Framework Promote partnerships among academia, industry, public sector, civil society, and natural environment. Align CoVEs with regional smart specialisation strategies focused on sustainable development and innovation.

Increase Capacity for International Collaboration Develop tools and activities to build partners' capacity for international work. Create synergies with other EU networks and established CoVEs.

Address Various EQF Levels EQF Level 4: Enhance employability with targeted training programmes. EQF Level 5: Specialisation opportunities in advanced technologies through microcredentials and hackathons. EQF Level 6: Upskilling and reskilling opportunities, intensive training programmes, and collaboration initiatives. EQF Level 7: Innovation pitching events and advanced innovation skills development.

The Q2IH Framework

INVESTech integrates the Q2IH Framework, promoting deep partnerships across five societal spheres to align CoVEs with regional smart specialisation strategies focused on sustainable development and innovation.

The target groups of INVESTech include:

Education organisations, offering Vocational Education and Training on ICT, at levels 4-7 of the EQF, VET students ,VET teachers and trainers, ICT professionals who wish to upskill or reskill from associations, training organisations, individuals, etc. companies, SMEs and startups in the ICT sector, regional authorities and policymakers responsible for VET, industry representatives in the ICT sector, innovation stakeholders (Innovation hubs, technology centres etc) research centres, civil society organisations and environmental NGOs, other CoVEs and the general public. In each country, these target groups are specified, and relevant organisations and stakeholders are identified that fall under these categories.
